There were a lot of “first time” in the history of Urban Paintmob. Most of the time we did not expect them but when the opportunities appeared, we did it and the results were very nice!
Our jamming with charity and community service is such an example. Since 2007, we have been supporting the annual charity art exhibition organized by SMIC Private School to raise fund for Red Cross China. Every year, students of the SMIC Private School created a lot of paintings and art crafts, then donated them for a charity sale in CITIC Square shopping mall.
都市画会的历史上有很多个“首次”，很多时候我们没有预料过自己会参与其中。但是，当机会来临时，我们把它们做出来了，而且对结果还是挺满意的！
我们参与公益活动就是一个很好的例子。从2007年开始，都市画会一直支持上海中芯国际学校的“博爱艺术慈善展”，为中国红十字会募捐款项。在活动中，中芯学校的学生创作了很多画作并安排在中信广场购物中心里展出和义卖。
The pictures drawn by the kids were very lovely! That’s why they sold well, allowing the exhibition to get more attention and sponsors year after year.
这些由学生们创作的图画通常都非常可爱，很受购物中心顾客的欢迎，所以展览每年获得的关注和赞助都越来越多。

This year, Urban Paintmob will spend efforts in community art projects. We’ve just started working with Hands on Shanghai (www.handsonshanghai.org) on a number of school and hospital art events. Below are a few pictures of the Art and Virtue workshops organized by Hands on Shanghai. We’re lucky to participate in this last session on Jan 15 and played with the kids. Each of them first did a personality test and found out their individuality. They then created different portraits of the animal characters that best represented themselves and presented them to the whole class. Hands on Shanghai organized the workshop very well and we learned a lot from them!
在1月15日，我们参与了一次由牵手上海举行的“艺术与情操”工作坊。在工作坊内，学生们先进行了一次性格测试，了解到自己的个性/特色等，然后他们绘画了不同最代表自己个性的动物形象并向班里的其他同学讲解。牵手上海非常专业和出色的安排了这次活动，我们也获益良多！
Before the Children’s Day, we had the opportunity to bring painting fun for some kids of the Shanghai Children Medical Centre. These kids have been receiving treatment in chronic diseases for a long time and they cannot have normal recreational activities. What we prepared for them were several sets of canvasses, with the outlines of some lovely cartoons, which could be coloured by the kids easily. During the event, they had a lot of fun with painting and, at the help of volunteers from Disney, the pictures were drawn beautifully! These several sets of pictures are now permanently displayed at the hospital corridor.
