Tang Si Migrant School is a privately-funded school located in Tang Si town of Pudong District. It accepts children of migrant workers living in Shanghai. Being migrant students mean that they are not entitled to any right of government-funded education in Shanghai (as well as other welfare compared to official Shanghai residents).

These “private schools” are usually under-funded. In order to enrich the school lives of the students and to inspire their interests to art, Rachel Roseman and some friends just started to run weekend art classes for the students.

Urban Paintmob is providing support in sponsoring some art materials but our support is far from enough. So your support is definitely needed. Maybe you can spend a few hours during the weekend to conduct the art classes, or to raise fund for the project. Think of it.

If you’re interested in supporting, please feel free to reach us or to Rachel Roseman directly here.
