1. What PAINTMOB is

PAINTMOB (paintmob.com) is an entertainment website. During each day (UTC) visitors pay to put short text “ideas” on a shared list and to strengthen or weaken each other’s ideas. At 00:00 UTC an AI image model paints one picture from the ideas that survived; the picture is kept in a public archive, and a new day begins with an empty list.

2. What you pay for

Every payment buys a digital display service that is delivered as soon as your payment is applied:

• Paint: your idea (up to 8 words; no word longer than 45 letters) joins tonight’s list and is shown publicly with your nickname. Up to 12 ideas are on the list at once. When all places are taken, an idea costs $1 more than the weakest one and pushes it out; among equally weak ideas, the one that has been on the list longest goes. If the same text is already on the list, your payment is added to its strength instead. During a launch period announced on the site, adding an idea is free while places remain (a few per person per day); a free idea counts as $1 of strength, and boosts and paint-overs stay paid.
• Boost ($1, $5 or $20): adds the amount you pay to an idea’s strength. Stronger ideas are painted bigger and more central at midnight.
• Paint over ($1, $5 or $20): takes the amount you pay off an idea’s strength. An idea whose strength reaches $0 leaves the list for everyone. Painting an idea out never costs more than the strength it has left when you start checkout.

Prices include any VAT or sales tax and are shown before you pay. There are no prizes, no winnings and no element of chance. Nothing on the site has monetary value or can be exchanged for money.

3. How the picture is made

The day’s picture is generated automatically, once, shortly after 00:00 UTC, by an AI image model from the ideas on the list at that moment. We do not promise how any idea will look, where it will appear or how large it will be; strength only decides its importance in the instructions given to the model.

If the image model refuses to paint an idea, that idea is taken off the list and its payment is refunded automatically.

4. How long your idea stays

A place on the list is not guaranteed. At any moment before midnight other visitors can push your idea out or paint over it. That is how the game works, so there are no refunds when your idea is later pushed out or painted over. Ideas that are on the list at midnight go into that day’s archived picture.

If your action cannot be applied at all, for example because the idea you paid to boost or paint over left the list before your payment arrived, or the day ended, your payment is refunded automatically.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK: by paying, you ask for the service to be performed immediately and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once your action has been applied.

5. Your content

You are responsible for the text you submit. Do not submit anything illegal, including threats or incitement to violence; support for terrorism; symbols, insignia or slogans of Nazi, terrorist or other proscribed organisations; any sexual content involving minors; personal data of a private individual or text targeting a private individual; accusing a private individual of a crime or wrongdoing; incitement to hatred against people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender or disability; scams or instructions for illegal acts.

Submissions are screened automatically before you pay. Opinions, politics, satire and jokes are allowed, including claims about companies, brands, governments and public figures; the pictures present them as satire, not as fact. We remove ideas when we receive a valid legal notice or otherwise learn that they are illegal; no refund is due for content removed because it is illegal.

By submitting text you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it, to use it to generate pictures, and to display and reproduce those pictures on the site, in the archive and in link previews.

6. The pictures

The pictures are generated by AI from many people’s contributions at once. They are satire and entertainment, not statements of fact, and do not express the views of the operator. Any words or lettering in a picture reproduce an idea a visitor paid for and are that visitor’s words, not ours. You may share them for non-commercial purposes with a link to the site.

7. Who can pay

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and authorised to use the payment method you pay with.

8. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe on a secure checkout page. We are the seller. Prices are shown in US dollars; where we are required to collect VAT or sales tax, it is shown at checkout. We never see your full card number.

9. Changes and availability

The service is provided as is. We may change prices, rules or features, or end the service; the archive may be kept or removed at our discretion. Changes never affect an action that has already been applied. We will update the date at the top of this page when these terms change.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
